“Crime of the Ancient Mariner” by Brian Lance
Just published! “Crime of the Ancient Mariner” by ELECTRIC LITERATURE’s weekly ‘literary oddments’ magazine, OKEY-PANKY.
I have always loved Gustave Doré’s moving etchings, and was very happy when Brian Lance asked me to illustrate his psychedelic, angst & drug-laden, navy man’s lament in his weaving of Coleridge’s poem with a U.S. Navy psych evaluation.
now that the Crime of the ancient mariner has been dealt with, whatever shall we do about the Grime of same aged seaman? Ajax? Mr Clean, Clorox . . . aught else? love the dwgs . . .
Grime of the Contemporary Mariner…from clipping news: Millions of barrels of oil stuck at sea in dirty tankers…
Great ideas and perfect implementation. But definitely not the right thing on a cold, grey january day. To admire, not to love. Huh.
Christina dear, again and again, something about your illustrations grabs me! And sure enough, I love Mariner madly, thank you and bravo! xxx

Very cool. Whimsy meets symbology meets mythology meets pharmacology. Would make a fine black light poster. Do those still exist?
I love to see your magination at work …kapow, zip, zing….
Hi Christina! I found a 1976 booklet about operation sail – would you like it? – just email me!
