International WorkBoat Show in NoLa

Posted in Uncategorized by bowsprite on 2014/12/02

Tugster and I, with other Rotten Apple harbor rats, will be attending the International WorkBoat Show this week, 3 – 5 December. Will you be around? drop a line!

Rendezvous with the Cap’t of the Crewboat Chronicles and WorkBoat Wear, first!  And then, I desperately want to go to the National WWII Museum.

But then, I will be the one wandering the aisles with these:

Best of luck, Christina! Hope it’s a fertile field. I was last in New Orleans about 14 years ago, before the hurricane – wish I could see the renaissance. Anyway, your heart, and your art, will make it a brighter place!

No jazz festivals for you, no fat Tuesday. No gumbotron. Work boats! I like the work boat in Beasts of the Southern Wild named “Grumpy”. A great pile of rust and rotting timbers and the captain who saves his chicken sandwich rappers for cohesion. Yeah. Have fun! Check out the grumpys whilst there.

    1. ACME Oyster House — don’t miss it.
    2. Central Grocery — get your mufaletta and a beer here and eat in the park (or on the free ferry to Algiers).
    3. Cocktails: Pimms Cup at Napoleon House; Sazerac at Arnaud’st; Hurricane at Pat O’Brien’s; Ramos Gin Fizz at the Roosevelt; Brandy Milk Punch at Brennan’s; oh, the list goes on…

Oh, that’s what’s going on! I saw a photo of a Louisiana work boat on Tugster’s facebook today – forgot to ask but was wondering!
